KNOWLEDGE | علم

What is the definition of Knowledge? The fact or condition of knowing something.

What does it mean to Know? To recognize, acknowledge, perceive.

Recognizing is perceiving something to be the same as something or someone previously known or encountered; to identify (something that has been known before).

To acknowledge something is to accept or admit the existence or truth (of that thing.)

Perception is the act of apprehending with the mind or senses.

Knowledge, therefore, must have an object and is dependent on the mind and physical senses. For humans, the primary sense organs gather signals from internal and external environments. We can see, hear, smell, taste, touch, and through these sensory experiences come to know the world around us.

This project’s goals are to:

  1. Advance de-colonial epistemological theory and praxis

  2. Explore the impacts of large language models on human knowledge

  3. Develop frameworks for discovering, preserving, and transmitting knowledge in contemporary social networks
